Q. Do I need a Hot Work Permit to use Safety Tool’s grinders or cutters in a Classified Area?

A. No, all of Safety Tools Allmet tools are classified as COLD WORK, thus not requiring a Hot Work Permit.

Q. Does Safety Tools Allmet product range include grinders and cutting tools?

A. Yes, Safety Tools Allmet has a full range of grinding and cutting tools. Most of the tools are pneumatic portable tools which enables them to be used in confined spaces as well as in open areas. Robots are available and specific designs to suit specific applications can be developed.

Q. Are all of Safety Tools Allmet pneumatic (air powered)?

A. Yes, all of our tools are pneumatic, however we do offer a hydraulic version on some custom made applications.

Q. Does the production need to be shutdown or slowdown when I use Safety Tools products?

A. No, as these tools do not generate enough heat or energy to generate an ignition there is no risk associated with their use even if hydrocarbons, including gas, chemicals, etc are in the atmosphere.

Q.Do I need special training in order to use this tools?

A. Special training is not required for the grinders, however it is for the cutting system. Controller box calibration, cutting techniques and some more information needs to be addressed so we require Training for the Operators.

A. Eye protection (goggles, face shield), ear protection, gloves, coverall, protective footwear (steel toe boots) and other safety paraphernalia should be used when operating this equipment.

Q. What is the life expectancy of a disc or file?

A. We can expect anywhere between 100-200 times that of a regular disc or file, which means some customers will require them periodically, while others may not require to replace them for many years. During the History of the company we have never had a customer say that the tool didn’t last according to his/her expectations.
